So what's this hackathon...?

Calling all creative problem-solvers!

We’re seeking creative minds to generate a social impact in The Delmar Loop. The Loop has a rich community of talent and culture, and we want to expand its reach.

...That’s where you come in!

Join us as we brainstorm ways to create an Innovation Neighborhood in the Loop that attracts and retains creative geniuses and accelerates socioeconomic growth. We want to hear ideas from everyone...

...from craftspeople to coders,

makers to mechanical engineers,

educators to entrepreneurs,

city planners to sociologists,

 students to seniors...

...you get the picture. We need the whole darn melting pot!

The 48-hour festivity kicks off on April 22nd. So come one, come all, bring a friend, and stir some change!

Register now!

For those who want to use software in their efforts, Cisco has donated the use of their open source development platform, mantl.io, for the event.

The Weekend's Challenge Topics

#1

The Loop needs to grow its ability to attract and retain creative/entrepreneurial people.  How would you address that need?

#2

Innovation Neighborhoods will create economic growth for its residents.  How would you ensure this economic growth is inclusive of the entire community?

#3

What technologies can be used to support the creation of Innovation Neighborhoods?

#4

There is a perception of security/safety issues in our region.  How would you address those?

#5

There is a need to expand STEM educational opportunities to underrepresented groups.  How would you enhance an online product to facilitate this?
